Compatibility Notes

Super-skaterhax (when used to launch the Homebrew Launcher) is compatible with New models on version 11.16.0 in all regions except TWN/CHN.

The instructions provided only apply to the New 3DS, New 3DS XL, and New 2DS XL. Please ensure that the device you are modding is a New 3DS, New 3DS XL, or New 2DS XL before continuing.

Section I - Updating the System

  1. Update je 3DS door naar System Settings en dan naar “Algemene Instellingen” te gaan. Ga in dat menu helemaal naar rechts en klik op “Systeemupdate”
    • De updater kan een bericht weergeven met de woorden “Your system is up to date” in plaats van te updaten. This is normal if you are already up to date; continue to the next section
    • If this gives you an error, set both your DNS settings and Proxy settings to “Auto”

Deel II - Voorbereiding

In this section, you will copy the files needed to trigger both super-skaterhax and the Homebrew Launcher.

  1. Schakel je 3DS uit
  2. Plaats je SD kaart in je computer
  3. Kopieer boot.firm en boot.3dsx van de Luma3DS .zip naar de hoofdmap van je SD-kaart
    • De hoofdmap van de SD-kaart verwijst naar de bovenste map van de SD-kaart, waarin je alle mappen op de SD-kaart kunt zien, waaronder de Nintendo 3DS map, zonder je in de Nintendo 3DS map te bevinden
  4. Copy everything inside the folder for your device’s region in the super-skaterhax .zip to the root of your SD card
  5. Stop je SD kaart terug in je 3DS
  6. Zet je 3DS aan

Section III - super-skaterhax

In this section, you will visit the browser exploit webpage, which will launch the Homebrew Launcher.

If you haven’t already, make sure you have a working Internet connection set up on your device.

  1. On the HOME Menu, press the Left and Right shoulder buttons at the same time to open the camera
    • If you are unable to open the camera, open the Internet Browser and manually type the URL instead (https://zoogie.github.io/web/super/ for EUR/USA/JPN, https://zoogie.github.io/web/korea for KOR)
  2. Tap the QR code button and scan one of the following QR codes for your device’s region here
    • If you get a security certificate warning, press (A) to allow the connection
  3. Press the (Select) button to open the bookmark tab
    • If your (Select) button does not respond, tap the star icon on the bottom-left corner of the screen
  4. Tap “Bookmark this page”
  5. Press (B) once to return to the browser
  6. Press (Start) to open the context menu
    • If your (Start) button does not respond, tap the 3-line menu on the bottom-right corner of the screen
  7. Tap on “Settings”
  8. Tap on “Delete Cookies”
  9. Druk op (A) om door te gaan
  10. Press (Home) to return to the HOME Menu, then immediately press (A) to launch the browser again
  11. Select the “GO GO!” button on the top screen
    • If any prompts appear, approve all of them
    • If your device freezes on a yellow screen, hold the POWER button until it turns off, then retry this section
    • If your device freezes on a red screen, hold the POWER button until it turns off, redo step Step 3 of Section II, then retry this section
    • If you get another error, follow this troubleshooting guide
  12. If the exploit was successful, your device will have booted into the Homebrew Launcher
  13. Schakel je 3DS uit

Section IV - Hardware Button Check

  1. With your device still powered off, hold the following buttons: (Left Shoulder) + (Right Shoulder) + (D-Pad Up) + (A), and while holding these buttons together, power on your device
    • Keep holding the buttons until the device boots to a system update screen (this is Safe Mode)
  2. If you see the system update screen, press Cancel
    • Your device will power off
    • If the device boots to the HOME Menu, just power off your device

Next step: Choose an exploit

If you saw the system update screen in the previous section, Safe Mode is working on your device.

If your device booted into Safe Mode, continue to Installing boot9strap (HBL-USM)

If your device did NOT boot into Safe Mode, continue to Dumping Movable (nimhax)
