目前有兩種不同方法可以在系統版本 11.5.0 上透過 DSiWare 安裝 boot9strap。

其中一種方法只適用於已經不在 電子商店（eShop） 上銷售的四款特定遊戲，而另外一種方法所用的許多遊戲仍然在 電子商店（eShop） 上。

||
這兩種方法皆須用到兩台主機。 其中一台 3DS（或 2DS）必須已安裝某種自製韌體（如 boot9strap 或 arm9loaderhax），我們將其稱為*3DS 始源機*；另一台 3DS（或2DS）必須仍在原廠系統上且搭載版本 11.5.0，我們將其稱為 *3DS 目標機*。

這兩種方式都是透過「FIRM partitions known-plaintext」漏洞（詳情請見[此](https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/3DS_System_Flaws)）所達成的；本漏洞可讓 DSiWare 程式任意的在已加密的 NAND 中讀寫。

這兩種方法皆需要您透過[軟體和資料轉移（System Transfer）](http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13996/)將 3DS 始源機的系統移至 3DS 目標機上。 軟體和資料轉移**只能**在下列的情況下使用：

+ New 3DS 或 New 2DS -> New 3DS 或 New 2DS
|
||
+ 舊型 3DS 或 舊型 2DS -> 舊型 3DS or 舊型 2DS
|
||
+ 舊型 3DS 或 舊型 2DS -> New 3DS or New 2DS
|
||

+《薩爾達傳說：四人之劍（The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords）》

||
|
||
盜版的遊戲將*無法使用*，而且這些遊戲已從 電子商店（eShop） 中被移除。
