<p><ahref="https://rc24.xyz/">RiiConnect24</a> allows you to use discontinued services from WiiConnect24, which include the News, Forecast, Everybody Votes, Nintendo and Check Mii Out Channel, along with Wii Mail.</p>
<pclass="notice--warning">It’s recommended to set your Wii to the current time before proceeding. Follow <ahref="rtc">this tutorial</a> in order to set it.</p>
<pclass="notice--danger">DO NOT INSTALL RIICONNECT24 ON A WII MINI! It will not work and it will brick the system.</p>
<h3id="requirements">Requirements</h3>
<pclass="notice--primary">If you are on vWii, you will also need <ahref="priiloader">Priiloader</a> installed with the WC24 hacks.</p>

<h4id="section-i---using-riiconnect24-patcher">Section I - Using RiiConnect24 Patcher</h4>
<ol>
<li>Click the link above to go to the GitHub page where the patcher is.</li>
<li>Download <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">RiiConnect24Patcher.bat</code> if you are on Windows, and <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">RiiConnect24Patcher.sh</code> if you are on a macOS/Linux system.</li>
<li>Run the RiiConnect24 patcher.
<ul>
<li>On Windows run <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">RiiConnect24Patcher.bat</code>.</li>
<li>On macOS/Linux systems, open Terminal and type <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">bash</code>, then drag <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">RiiConnect24Patcher.sh</code> into the terminal then press enter. It should look like this: <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">bash <directory>/<directory>/RiiConnect24Patcher.sh</code>.</li>
</ul>

<li>
<p>Press 1 to choose “<codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Start</code>” and confirm your selection by pressing <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">ENTER</code>.</p>

<p>While you’re at it, RiiConnect24 Patcher can additionally download some other optional channels that do not use RiiConnect24. <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">[X]</code> represents the options that selected. Just press 5 and <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">ENTER</code> if you’re not interested.</p>
<p>Connect your SD Card or USB Drive to your computer and select “<codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">1</code>”.</p>

<p>If your device was detected successfully, select “<codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">1</code>”. If not, make sure there’s a folder called <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">apps</code> on your SD Card or USB Drive and try again.</p>
<p>Once you reach the screen that says <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Patching done</code>, you can exit the patcher. All the files should already be on your SD card.</p>
<li>If it did not copy everything automatically to your SD Card or USB Device, copy the <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">WAD</code> and <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">apps</code> folder next to <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">RiiConnect24Patcher.bat</code> or <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">RiiConnect24Patcher.sh</code> to your SD Card or USB Device.</li>
</ol>
<h4id="section-ii---installing-wads">Section II - Installing WADs</h4>
<pclass="notice--primary">If you are using Dolphin, you have finished the guide. Install the WADs by going to <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Tools -> Install WAD</code> within Dolphin.</p>
<p>You will now install the patched IOS and Channel WADs that are required to use RiiConnect24.</p>
<ol>
<li>Extract the YAWM ModMii Edition <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">.zip</code> file, and copy the <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">apps</code> folder to your SD card or USB drive.</li>
<li>Put your SD card or USB drive in your Wii.</li>
<li>Launch the Homebrew Channel on your Wii.</li>
<li>Launch YAWM ModMii Edition.</li>
<li>Select the device you have put the RiiConnect24 files on.</li>
<li>Highlight all the WADs in the <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">wad</code> folder by pressing the + Button to select them. When all of the WADs are selected, press A twice to install the WADs.</li>
<li>After they are successfully installed, press the HOME Button to exit back to the Homebrew Channel.</li>
</ol>
<h4id="section-iii---patching-nwc24msgcfg">Section III - Patching nwc24msg.cfg</h4>
<p>You will now patch your <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">nwc24msg.cfg</code> file which is required in order to use Wii Mail.</p>
<ol>
<li>Launch RiiConnect24 Mail Patcher.</li>
<li>It should only take a few seconds to patch your nwc24msg.cfg. When it’s done, press the HOME Button to exit.</li>
</ol>
<h4id="section-iv---connecting-to-riiconnect24">Section IV - Connecting to RiiConnect24</h4>
<pclass="notice--warning">The old DNS server <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">164.132.44.106</code> has been deprecated as of <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">June 1st, 2023</code> and is no longer available to use.</p>
<pclass="notice--warning">If you’re getting errors such as <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">WiiConnect24 and Wii Shop Channel currently not being offered in your country</code>, go to Wii Settings -> Last Page -> Country and change it to United Kingdom. You will get this error when using a country that RiiConnect24 does not support.</p>
<pclass="notice--warning">If you get error 107245, you did not install the patched IOS.<br/>

<p>You will now set your DNS to RiiConnect24 servers. This is optional but recommended, because it enhances the use of RiiConnect24 and Wiimmfi by making some other features available.</p>
<ol>
<li>Go to <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Wii Options</code>.</li>
<li>Go to <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Wii Settings</code>.</li>
<li>Go to <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Page 2</code>, then click on <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Internet</code>.</li>
<li>Go to <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Connection Settings</code>.</li>
<li>Select your current connection.</li>
<li>Go to <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Change Settings</code>.</li>
<li>Go to <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Auto-Obtain DNS</code> (Not IP Address), then select <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">No</code>, then <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Advanced Settings</code>.</li>
<li>Type in <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">167.86.108.126</code> as the primary DNS.</li>
<li>Type in <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">1.1.1.1</code> as the secondary DNS.</li>
<li>Select <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Confirm</code>, then select <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Save</code>.</li>
<li>Select <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">OK</code> to perform a connection test.</li>
<li>If the connection test was successful, select <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">No</code> to skip the Wii System Update.</li>
<li>Go to <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">WiiConnect24</code>, then <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">WiiConnect24</code> again, and make sure it is enabled.</li>
<li>Back on the WiiConnect24 menu, go to <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Standby Connection</code> and make sure it is enabled.</li>
<li>At <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Slot Illumination</code>, it is recommend you set the disc light to <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Dim</code> or <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Bright</code>, but this is optional.</li>
<li>Finally, go to the <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Internet</code> section, then <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">User Agreements</code> or <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Agreement/Contact</code>, then <codeclass="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">Yes</code>. Please read through this.</li>
