31bc023eff Synchronize (hosted, git, clustered, SSH) repositories prior to reads
Summary:
Ref T4292. Before we write or read a hosted, clustered Git repository over SSH, check if another version of the repository exists on another node that is more up-to-date.

If such a version does exist, fetch that version first. This allows reads and writes of any node to always act on the most up-to-date code.

Test Plan: Faked my way through this and got a fetch via `bin/repository update`; this is difficult to test locally and needs more work before we can put it in production.

601aaa5a86 Modularize content sources
Summary:
Ref T10537. For Nuance, I want to introduce new sources (like "GitHub" or "GitHub via Nuance" or something) but this needs to modularize eventually.

Split ContentSource apart so applications can add new content sources.

Test Plan:
This change has huge surface area, so I'll hold it until post-release. I think it's fairly safe (and if it does break anything, the breaks should be fatals, not anything subtle or difficult to fix), there's just no reason not to hold it for a few hours.

- Viewed new module page.
- Grepped for all removed functions/constants.
- Viewed some transactions.
- Hovered over timestamps to get content source details.
- Added a comment via Conduit.

- Ran `bin/storage upgrade --namespace XXXXX --no-quickstart -f` to re-run all historic migrations.

7d4b323da2 Store Almanac "service types" instead of "service classes"
Summary:
Ref T10449. Currently, we store classes (like "AlmanacClusterRepositoryServiceType") in the database.

Instead, store types (like "cluster.repository").

This is a small change, but types are a little more flexible (they let us freely reanme classes), a little cleaner (fewer magic strings in the codebase), and a little better for API usage (they're more human readable).

Make this minor usability change now, before we unprototype.

Also make services searchable by type.

Also remove old Almanac API endpoints.

  - Ran migration, verified all data migrated properly.
  - Created, edited, rebound, and changed properties of services.

944539a786 Simplify locking of Almanac cluster services
Summary:
Fixes T6741. Ref T10246. Broadly, we want to protect Almanac cluster services:

  - Today, against users in the Phacility cluster accidentally breaking their own instances.
  - In the future, against attackers compromising administrative accounts and adding a new "cluster database" which points at hardware they control.

The way this works right now is really complicated: there's a global "can create cluster services" setting, and then separate per-service and per-device locks.

Instead, change "Can Create Cluster Services" into "Can Manage Cluster Services". Require this permission (in addition to normal permissions) to edit or create any cluster service.

This permission can be locked to "No One" via config (as we do in the Phacility cluster) so we only need this one simple setting.

There's also zero reason to individually lock //some// of the cluster services.

Also improve extended policy errors.

The UI here is still a little heavy-handed, but should be good enough for the moment.

Test Plan:
  - Ran migrations.
  - Verified that cluster services and bindings reported that they belonged to the cluster.
  - Edited a cluster binding.
  - Verified that the bound device was marked as a cluster device
  - Moved a cluster binding, verified the old device was unmarked as a cluster device.
  - Tried to edit a cluster device as an unprivileged user, got a sensible error.

ab86523ac4 Allow Almanac properties to be deleted, use EditEngine instead of CustomField
Summary:
Fixes T10410. Immediate impact of this is that you can now actually delete properties from Almanac services, devices and bindings.

The meat of the change is switching from CustomField to EditEngine for most of the actual editing logic. CustomField creates a lot of problems with using EditEngine for everything else (D15326), and weird, hard-to-resolve bugs like this one (not being able to delete stuff).

Using EditEngine to do this stuff instead seems like it works out much better -- I did this in ProfilePanel first and am happy with how it looks.

This also makes the internal storage for properties JSON instead of raw text.

411331469a Apply namespace locking rules in Almanac
Summary:
Ref T10246. Ref T6741.

When you have a namespace like "phacility.net", require users creating services and devices within it to have edit permission on the namespace.

This primarily allows us to lock down future device names in the cluster, so instances can't break themselves once they get access to Almanac.

Test Plan:
  - Configured a `phacility.net` namespace, locked myself out of it.
  - Could not create new `stuff.phacility.net` services/devices.
  - Could still edit existing devices I had permission for.

db50d0fb11 Rough-in Almanac namespaces
Summary:
Ref T6741. Ref T10246.

Root problem: to provide Drydock in the cluster, we need to expose Almanac, and doing so would let users accidentally or intentionally create a bunch of `repo006.phacility.net` devices/services which could conflict with the real ones we manage.

There's currently no way to say "you can't create anything named `*.blah.net`". This adds "namespaces", which let you do that (well, not yet, but they will after the next diff).

After the next diff, if you try to create `repo003.phacility.net`, but the namespace `phacility.net` already exists and you don't have permission to edit it, you'll be asked to choose a different name.

Also various modernizations and some new docs.

635e9c6075 Provide a generic "Datasource" StandardCustomField
Summary:
Ref T9253. See discussion in D13843.

I want to let Drydock blueprints for Almanac services choose those services from a typeahead, but only list appropriate services in the typeahead. To do this:

  - Provide a StandardCustomField for an arbitrary datasource.
  - Adjust the AlmanacServiceDatasource to allow filtering by service class.

This implementation is substantially the same as the one in D13843, with some adjustments:

  - I lifted most of the code in the `Users` standard custom field into a new `Tokenizer` standard custom field.
  - The `Users` and `Datasource` custom fields now extend the `Tokenizer` custom field and can share most of the code it uses.
  - I exposed this field fully as a configurable field. I don't think anyone will ever use it, but this generality costs us nearly nothing and improves consistency.
  - The code in D13843 didn't actually pass the parameters over the wire, since the object that responds to the request is not the same object that renders the field. Use the "parameters" mechanism in datasources to get things passed over the wire.

Test Plan:
  - Created a custom "users" field in Maniphest and made sure it still wokred.
  - Created a custom "almanc services" field in Maniphest and selected some services for a task.
  - With additional changes from D13843, selected an appropriate Almanac service in a new Drydock blueprint.

801607381d [Redesign] PhabricatorApplicationSearchResultView
Summary: Ref T8099. This adds a new class which all search engines return for layout. I thought about this a number of ways, and I think this is the cleanest path. Each Engine can return whatever UI bits they needs, and AppSearch or Dashboard picks and lays the bits out as needed. In the AppSearch case, interfaces like Notifications, Calendar, Legalpad all need more custom layouts. I think this also leaves a resonable path forward for NUX as well. Also, not sure I implemented the class correctly, but assume thats easy to fix?

Test Plan: Review and do a search in each application changed. Grep for all call sites.

a4784e03ff [Redesign] Add Table, Collapse support to ObjectBox
Summary: Converts most all tables to be directly set via `setTable` to an ObjectBox. I think this path is more flexible design wise, as we can change the box based on children, and not just CSS. We also already do this with PropertyList, Forms, ObjectList, and Header. `setCollapsed` is added to ObjectBox to all children objects to bleed to the edges (like diffs).

Test Plan: I did a grep of `appendChild($table)` as well as searches for `PHUIObjectBoxView`, also with manual opening of hundreds of files. I'm sure I missed 5-8 places. If you just appendChild($table) nothing breaks, it just looks a little funny.

Summary:
Fixes T6956. Before this change, we called PhabricatorUser::getOmnipotentUser in the various delete methods to query the data. Now, we use $engine->getViewer(), since its always a good thing to have less calls to PhabricatorUser::getOmnipotentUser thrown around the codebase.

I used the "codemod" tool to audit the existing calls to PhabricatorDestructorEngine (all of them) so ostensibly this gets all the spots. If I missed something though, its still going to work, so this change is very low risk.

f5580c7a08 Make buildWhereClause() a method of AphrontCursorPagedPolicyAwareQuery
Summary:
Ref T4100. Ref T5595.

To support a unified "Projects:" query across all applications, a future diff is going to add a set of "Edge Logic" capabilities to `PolicyAwareQuery` which write the required SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, HAVING and GROUP clauses for you.

With the addition of "Edge Logic", we'll have three systems which may need to build components of query claues: ordering/paging, customfields/applicationsearch, and edge logic.

For most clauses, queries don't currently call into the parent explicitly to get default components. I want to move more query construction logic up the class tree so it can be shared.

For most methods, this isn't a problem, but many subclasses define a `buildWhereClause()`. Make all such definitions protected and consistent.

This causes no behavioral changes.

Summary:
Ref T7689. This serves two goals:

  - I want to remove Controller->loadViewerHandles(). A nontrivial number of these callsites are loading handles to pass to tokenizers. Since tokenizers need to take strings eventually anyway, we can do less work by letting them take PHIDs now.
  - A few changes out, I want tokenizers to accept parameterized tokens (like `viewer()`, `members(differential)`, etc.), so the `setValues()` signature needs to change eventually anyway.

I made this work and converted a handful of callsites as an example; upcoming changes will convert more.

adf209e655 When registering a device, write a device ID
Summary:
Ref T5833. In some cases, we need to know if an Almanac device is the localhost or not, so we can either handle or forward the request.

To accomplish this, write a device ID when running `bin/almanac register`.

Using `--allow-key-reuse` and `--identify-as`, multiple devices are permitted to //authenticate// as one device but //identify// as different devices. In the Phacility cluster, this allows all the `repoXXX` machines to have one keypair (making key management much easier) but still work as separate devices. This is an advanced feature; normal installs with 1-3 hosts would just generate a key + device per host and identify/authenticate as the same device.

Test Plan: Ran commands with lots of flags like `PHACILITY_INSTANCE=local sudo -E ./bin/almanac register --device daemon.phacility.net --private-key ~/dev/core/conf/keys/daemon.key --force --allow-key-reuse --identify-as local001.phacility.net`. Ref T2783. This is basically a more refined version of D10400, which churned a bit on things like SSH key storage, the actual way the signing protocol shook out, etc.

  - When Phabricator tries to make an intra-cluster service call as the omnipotent user, sign it with the host's device key.
  - Add `bin/almanac register` to say "this host is X device, identified by private key Y". This stores the keypair locally, adds the public key to Almanac, and trusts it.

Net effect is that once a host has been registered, the daemons can make calls to other nodes as the omnipotent user. This is primarily necessary so they can access repository API methods on remote hosts.

Test Plan:
  - Ran `bin/almanac register` with various valid and invalid inputs.
  - Verified keys get generated/added/stored properly.
  - Made a device-signed cluster Conduit call.
  - Made a normal old user-signed cluster Conduit call.

d2df3064bc Allow Almanac services to be locked
Summary:
Fixes T6741. This allows Almanac services to be locked from the CLI. Locked services (and their bindings, interfaces and devices) can not be edited. This serves two similar use cases:

  - For normal installs, you can protect cluster configuration from an attacker who compromises an account (or generally harden services which are intended to be difficult to edit).
  - For Phacility, we can lock externally-managed instance cluster configuration without having to pull any spooky tricks.

Test Plan:
  - Locked and unlocked services.
  - Verified locking a service locks connected properties, bindings, binding properties, interfaces, devices, and device properties.

3fa519da74 Allow Almanac service types to define default properties
Summary:
Ref T5833. This allows Almanac ServiceTypes to define default properties for a service, which show up in the UI and are more easily editable.

Overall, this makes it much easier to make structured/usable/consistent service records: you can check a checkbox that says "prevent new allocations" instead of needing to know the meaning of a key.

c85327ca3e Give AlmanacServices a service type
Summary:
Ref T5833. This allows services to be typed, to distinguish between different kinds of services. This makes a few things easier:

  - It's easier for clients to select the services they're interested in (see note in T5873 about Phacility). This isn't a full-power solution, but gets is some of the way there.
  - It's easier to set appropriate permissions around when modifications to the Phabricator cluster are allowed. These service nodes need to be demarcated as special in some way no matter what (see T6741). This also defines a new policy for users who are permitted to create services.
  - It's easier to browse/review/understand services.
  - Future diffs will allow ServiceTypes to specify more service structure (for example, default properties) to make it easier to configure services correctly. Instead of a free-for-all, you'll get a useful list of things that consumers of the service expect to read.

The "custom" service type allows unstructured/freeform services to be created.

Test Plan:
  - Created a new service (and hit error cases).
  - Edited an existing service.
  - Saw service types on list and detail views.
  - Poked around new permission stuff.
  - Ran `almanac.queryservices` with service class specification.

4505724cc4 Allow repositories to be bound to an AlmanacService
Summary:
Ref T2783. This is primarily exploratory and just figuring out what we're blocked on:

  - Allow a Repository to be bound to a Service. The Service may eventually define multiple read/write nodes, etc.
    - There's no UI to do this binding yet, you have to touch the database manually.
  - If a repository is bound to a Service, effect Conduit calls via calls to the remote service instead of executing them in-process.
    - These don't actually work yet since there's no authentication (see T5955).

Test Plan:
  - Made a nice Service with a nice Binding to a nice Interface on a nice Device.
  - Force-associated a repository with the service using a raw MySQL query.
  - Saw Phabricator try to make a remote call to the service (on localhost) and fail because of missing auth stuff.
  - Also ran `almanac.queryservices`.

69cc5df645 Transactions - deploy buildTransactionTimeline against a few more applications
Summary:
Ref T4712. Thus far, it seems that most "non-standard" things can be done pretty easily in the controller. Aside from deploying, this diff had to fix a few bugs / missing implementations of stuff.

(Notably, PhabricatorAuthProviderConfig, HeraldRule, PhabricatorSlowvotePoll, and AlmanacNetwork needed to implement PhabricatorApplicationTransactionInterface, PhabricatorAuthAuthProviderPHIDType had to be added, and a rendering bug in transactions of type PhabricatorOAuth2AuthProvider had to be fixed.)

Test Plan: Almanac - looked at binding, device, network, and service view controllers and verified timeline displayed properly. Herald - looked at a rule and verified timeline. Slowvote - looked at a vote and verified timeline. Auth - looked at an auth provider (Facebook) and verified proper display of transactions within timeline.

5e0f218fe4 Allow device SSH keys to be trusted
Summary:
Ref T6240. Some discussion in that task. In instance/cluster environments, daemons need to make Conduit calls that bypass policy checks.

We can't just let anyone add SSH keys with this capability to the web directly, because then an adminstrator could just add a key they own and start signing requests with it, bypassing policy checks.

Add a `bin/almanac trust-key --id <x>` workflow for trusting keys. Only trusted keys can sign requests.

Test Plan:
  - Generated a user key.
  - Generated a device key.
  - Trusted a device key.
  - Untrusted a device key.
  - Hit the various errors on trust/untrust.
  - Tried to edit a trusted key.
