9a8019d4a9 Modularize workboard column orders
Summary:
Depends on D20267. Depends on D20268. Ref T10333. Currently, we support "Natural" and "Priority" orders, but a lot of the particulars are pretty hard-coded, including some logic in `ManiphestTask`.

Although it's not clear that we'll ever put other types of objects on workboards, it seems generally bad that you need to modify `ManiphestTask` to get a new ordering.

Pull the ordering logic out into a `ProjectColumnOrder` hierarchy instead, and let each ordering define the things it needs to work (name, icon, what headers look like, how different objects are sorted, and how to apply an edit when you drop an object under a header).

Then move the existing "Natural" and "Priority" orders into this new hierarchy.

This has a minor bug where using the "Edit" workflow to change a card's priority on a priority-ordered board doesn't fully refresh card/header order since the response isn't ordering-aware. I'll fix that in an upcoming change.

Test Plan: Grouped workboards by "Natural" and "Priority", dragged stuff around within and between columns, grepped for all touched symbols.

7d849afd16 Add a "WorkboardCardTemplate" class to make workboard client code easier to reason about
Summary:
Depends on D20266. Boards currently have several `whateverMap<cardPHID => stuff>` properties, but we can just move these all down into a `CardTemplate`, similar to the recently introduced `HeaderTemplate`.

The `CardTemplate` holds all the global information for a card, and then `Card` is specific for a particular copy in a column. Today, each `CardTemplate` has one `Card`, but a `CardTemplate` may have more than one card in the future (when we add subproject columns).

Test Plan: Viewed workboards in different sort orders and dragged stuff around, grepped for all affected symbols.

46ed8d4a5e On Workboards, sort groups by "natural order", not subpriority
Summary:
Depends on D20263. Ref T10333. I want to add groups like "Assignee" to workboards. This means you may have several tasks grouped under, say, "Alice".

When you drag the bottom-most task under "Alice" to the top, what does that mean?

Today, the only grouping is "Priority", and it means "change the task's secret/hidden global subpriority". However, this seems to generally be a somewhat-bad answer, and is quite complex. It also doesn't make much sense for an author grouping, since one task can't really be "more assigned" to Alice than another task.

Users likely intend this operation to mean "move it, visually, with no other effects" -- that is, user intent is to shuffle sticky notes around on a board, not edit anything substantive. The meaning is probably something like "this is similar to other nearby tasks" or "maybe this is a good place to start", which we can't really capture with any top-level attribute.

We could extend "subpriority" and give tasks a secret/hidden "sub-assignment strength" and so on, but this seems like a bad road to walk down. We'll also run into trouble later when subproject columns may appear on the board, and a user could want to put a task in different positions on different subprojects, conceivably.

In the "Natural" order view, we already have what is probably a generally better approach for this: a task display order particular to the column, that just remembers where you put the sticky notes.

Move away from "subpriority", and toward a world where we mostly keep sticky notes where you stuck them and move them around only when we have to. With no grouping, we still sort by "natural" order, as before. With priority grouping, we now sort by `<priority, natural>`. When you drag stuff around inside a priority group, we update the natural order.

This means that moving cards around on a "priority" board will also move them around on a "natural" board, at least somewhat. I think this is okay. If it's not intuitive, we could give every ordering its own separate "natural" view, so we remember where you stuck stuff on the "priority" board but that doesn't affect the "Natural" board. But I suspect we won't need to.

Test Plan:
  - Viewed and dragged a natural board.
  - Viewed and dragged a priority board.
  - Dragged within and between groups of 0, 1, and multiple items.

40af472ff5 Make drag-and-drop on workboards interact with priority column headers
Summary:
Ref T10333. Ref T8135. Depends on D20247. Allow users to drag-and-drop cards on a priority-sorted workboard under headers, even if the header has no other cards.

As of D20247, headers show up but they aren't really interactive. Now, you can drag cards directly underneath a header (instead of only between other cards). For example, if a column has only one "Wishlist" task, you may drag it under the "High", "Normal", or "Low" priority headers to select a specific priority.

(Some of this code still feels a little rough, but I think it will generalize once other types of sorting are available.)

Test Plan: Dragged cards within and between priority groups, saw appropriate priority edits applied in every case I could come up with.

14a433c773 Add priority group headers to workboard columns (display only)
Summary:
Ref T10333. When workboards are ordered (for example, by priority), add headers to the various groups. Major goals are:

  - Allow users to drag-and-drop to set values that no cards currently have: for example, you can change a card priority to "normal" by dragging it under the "normal" header, even if no other cards in the column are currently "Normal".
  - Make future orderings more useful, particularly "order by assignee". We don't really have room to put the username on every card and it would create a fair amount of clutter, but we can put usernames in these headers and then reference them with just the profile picture. This also allows you to assign to users who are not currently assigned anything in a given column.
  - Make the drag-and-drop behavior more obvious by showing what it will do more clearly (see T8135).
  - Make things a little easier to scan in general: because space on cards is limited, some information isn't conveyed very clearly (for example, priority information is currently conveyed //only// through color, which can be hard to pick out visually and is probably not functional for users who need vision accommodations).
  - Maybe do "swimlanes": this is pretty much a "swimlanes" UI if we add whitespace at the bottom of each group so that the headers line up across all the columns (e.g., "Normal" is at the same y-axis position in every column as you scroll down the page). Not sold on this being useful, but it's just a UI adjustment if we do want to try it.

NOTE: This only makes these headers work for display.

They aren't yet recognized as targets by the drag list UI, so you can't drag cards into an empty group. I'll tackle that in a followup.

be1e3b2cc0 When a user drags a card over a column, highlight the column border
Summary:
Ref T10334. Partly, this just improves visual feedback for all drag operations. After D20242, we can have cases where you (for example) drag a low-priority node to a very tall column on a priority-ordered workboard. In this case, the actual dashed-border-drop-target may not be on screen.

We might make the column scroll or put some kind of hint in the UI in this case, but an easy starting point is just to make the "yes, you're targeting this column" state a bit more clear.

Test Plan: Dragged tasks between columns, saw the border higlight on the target columns. This is very tricky to take a screenshot of.

2260738de9 When dragging nodes between different columns on an ordered board, don't reorder them by making secondary edits
Summary:
Ref T10334. When a workboard is ordered by priority, dragging from column "A" to a particular place in column "B" currently means "move this task to column B, and adjust its priority so that it naturally sorts into the location under my mouse cursor".

Users frequently find this confusing / undesirable.

To begin improving this, make "drag from column A to column B" and "drag from somewhere in column A to somewhere else in column A" into different operations. The first operation, a movement between columns, no longer implies an ordering change. The second action still does.

So if you actually want to change the priority of a task, you drag it within its current column. If you just want to move it to a different column, you drag it between columns.

This creates some possible problems:

  - Some users may love the current behavior and just not be very vocal about it. I doubt it, but presumably we'll hear from them if we break it.
  - If you actualy want to move + reorder, it's a bit more cumbersome now. We could possibly add something like "shift + drag" for this if there's feedback.
  - The new behavior is probably less surprising, but may not be much more obvious. Future changes (for example, in T10335) should help make it more clear.
  - When you mouse cursor goes over column B, the card dashed-rectangle preview target thing jumps to the correct position in the column -- but that may not be under your mouse cursor. This feels pretty much fine if the whole column fits on screen. It may not be so great if the column does not fit on screen and the dashed-rectangle-thing has vanished. This is just a UI feedback issue and we could refine this later (scroll/highlight the column).

Test Plan:
  - Created several tasks at different priority levels, sorted a board by priority, dragged tasks between columns. Dragging from "A" to "B" no longer causes a priority edit.
  - Also, dragged within a column. This still performs priority edits.

6f7bb8c91a On workboards, provide all of the supported "create task" forms in the dropdown
Summary:
Ref T12314. Ref T6064. Ref T11580. If an install defines several different task create forms (like "Create Plant" and "Create Animal"), allow any of them to be created directly onto a workboard column.

This is just a general consistency improvement that makes Custom Forms and Workboards work together a bit better. We might do something fancier eventually for T6064 (which wants fewer clicks) and/or T11580 (which wants per-workboard control over forms or defaults).

61216dc641 Fix a JS error when adding a project card directly to a subproject from a workboard
Summary:
Fixes T12152. When creating a subproject task directly from a parent project, we can get column information back about the subproject column, which isn't visible. Just ignore this rather than trying to draw a card into a column which does not exist.

This flow (see test plan) is a little unintuitive since the card never appears on the workboard, but this class of things is probably roughly somewhere in T4900.

Test Plan:
  - Create a parent project A.
  - Create subproject B.
  - On the workboard for A, select "Create Task..." from the dropdown.
  - Add tag "B" in the dialog that pops up.
  - Save the task.

Note that this flow creates a task tagged only with "B", since "A" and "B" are mutually exclusive tags.

Before patch: UI freezes (JX.Mask is never removed), JS error in console.
After patch: workflow completes. Note that card is (correctly) not visible: it's in an invisible subproject column.

Rather than copy-pasting it to the user menu, try to make it a default behavior. This adds a new rule: don't close the menu if the item is a dynamic item built in JS with PHUIXActionView.

This allows dynamic items to control the menu themselves, while giving static items the desired default behavior.

01084bfe22 Begin making card updates on boards independent of context
Summary:
Ref T4900. To eventually support realtime board updates, we need to be able to perform a board state update without the context of the action which caused it.

For example, if the server says "update card Y", we need to know what to do without being told "card Y was moved from column A to column B" explicitly. Currently, all the update code relies on knowing what happened and which nodes were affected.

This is only a small step forward, but starts making things a bit more independent and consistent.

9ed9764784 Replace height buffer behavior while dragging on workboards with infinite column height
Summary:
Ref T4900. The root problem is that dragging stuff near the bottom of the board can cause jittery, jumpy behaviors.

Internal scrolling has changed the nature of this problem. Previously, the height of the board itself would jump around, but it's now fixed so the height of columns jumps around instead.

We could take the same approach and add a chunk to the bottom of each column when a drag starts, but this is really distracting visually since it's obvious to the user.

Instead, treat columns as infinitely tall (so dragging beneath them still counts as dragging to the bottom position).

Test Plan:
  - View a board with a column taller than the screen (has a scrollbar).
  - Drag a card to near the bottom position.
  - Move the mouse down a little bit at a time, continuing toward the bottom of the page.
    - Before patch: at some point, UI flips out and starts rapidly adding, scrolling, and removing the ghost.
    - After patch: sensible behavior, ghost is in bottom position for all cursor locations.

Also works for dragging to the top.

(This leaves us with a little less dead space for cancelling drags, but you've still got the left menu, anything offscreen, and the escape key, which seems fine.)

9bca1a56da Begin generalizing Javascript for Workboard state handling
Summary:
Ref T4900. Broadly, workboard state management is fairly ad-hoc now, which makes things like this (where some kind of edit affects global state) difficult:

f02aed10e7 Fix three issues with scrolling while dragging items (e.g., on workboards)
Summary:
Fixes T5979. There are three issues here:

  - We cache document positions when you pick an item up, but don't recalculate them after you scroll, so they get out of date. Dirty the cache when the user scrolls.
  - When we rebuild the cache during a drag (previously, this never happened), the position of the object you're dragging is computed wrong (since it has been moved to be under the cursor). Adjust the effective position of the object you've picked up to put it back in the right place in the list.
  - When you fiddle around at the bottom of a column you can get jumpy redraws as the height adjusts. Put `min-height` on the container during a drag to prevent this.

Test Plan: In Safari, Chrome and Firefox, dragged items around on columns before and after scrolling the workboard panel.

300910f462 Allow columns to have a point limit
Summary:
Fixes T5885. This implements optional soft point limits for workboard columns, per traditional Kanban.

  - Allow columns to have a point limit set.
  - When a column has a point limit, show it in the header.
  - If a column has too many points in it, show the column and point count in red.

@chad, this could probably use some design tweaks. In particular:

  - I changed the color of "hidden" columns to avoid confusion with "overfull" columns. We might be able to find a better color.
  - UI hints for overfull columns might need adjustment.

(After T4427, we'll let you sum some custom field instead of total number of tasks, which is why this is called "points" rather than "number of tasks".)

Test Plan:
{F190914}

Note that:

  - "Pre-planning" has a limit, so it shows "4/12".
  - "Planning" has a limit and is overfull, so it shows "5 / 4".
  - Other columns do not have limits.
  - "Post-planning" is a hidden column. This might be too muted now.

24a6eeb8d8 Allow the workboard backlog column to be reordered
Summary:
Fixes T5677.

  - Instead of using `sequence == 0` to mean "this is the backlog column", flag the column explicitly.
  - Migrate existing sequence 0 columns to have the flag.
  - Add the flag when initializing or copying a board.
  - Remove special backlog logic when reordering columns.

Test Plan:
  - Migrated columns, viewed some boards, they looked identical.
  - Reordered the backlog column a bunch of times (first, last, middle, dragged other stuff around).
  - Added tasks to a project, saw them show up in the reordered backlog.
  - Initialized a new board and saw a backlog column show up.
  - Copied an existing board and saw the backlog column come over.
  - Tried to hide a backlog column.

abfff87f26 Convert workboard column options into a dropdown menu
Summary:
Ref T5024, T4427, T5474, T5523. Instead of separate icons in the column header for "Create Task" and "Edit Column Settings", use a dropdown menu.

  - T5024 will likely add a "View Standalone" option.
  - T4427 needs header space to show a count.
  - T5474 likely needs "Edit Triggers..." (this seems reasonable to separate from editing the name, etc.)
  - T5523 likely adds "Move all tasks..." eventually.

fdf6b56261 Add UI for alternate board ordering rules
Summary:
Ref T4807. This doesn't actually do anything yet, but adds a dropdown menu for choosing an ordering and gets all the UI working correctly.

This also fixes a bug where column hidden state wouldn't persist across filter changes.

(I won't land this until it does something, but the next diff will probably be a mess so this seemed like a clean place to sever things.)

Test Plan:
{F187114}

  - Altered sort ordering.
  - Altered hidden state and filters, verified all states persisted correctly.
  - Added `phlog()` to edit/create and move controllers and verified they receive sort information.

90431fd101 Workboards - fix adding new tasks and sorting
Summary: At least on my install, sorting was pretty borked from a type issue. (e.g. "unbreak now" of 100 sorting as less than "High" of 90). Fix this with some parseInt action. Also support adding new cards with the new colsort stuff. The clever bit here is to include the task ID in the sorting vector because the task ID wins ties at the moment I think / new tasks need to show up before older tasks when they are initially created. Fixes T5716.

Test Plan: added many "normal" priority cards and saw them fly in correctly. changed priority and moved correctly. made no edits and no moves were made correctly.

fae23e0860 Make column reordering after edits on workboards more general
Summary:
Ref T5476. Currently, the task edit code assumes it knows what the UI looks like and sends back where on the column an item should be inserted.

This is buggy after adding filters, and relatively complex. Instead, send down the ordering on the whole column and sort it in the UI. This is a bit simpler overall and more general. It makes it easier to further generalize this code for T5476.

Test Plan:
  - Edited a task on a board, changing priority. Saw it reorder properly.
  - Edited a task on a board in a field of other tasks at the same top-level priority. Saw it refresh without reordering.

f0147fd8ad Allow workboards to be filtered with ApplicationSearch
Summary:
Ref T4673.

IMPORTANT: I had to break one thing (see TODO) to get this working. Not sure how you want to deal with that. I might be able to put the element //inside// the workboard, or I could write some JS. But I figured I'd get feedback first.

General areas for improvement:

  - It would be nice to give you some feedback that you have a filter applied.
  - It would be nice to let you save and quickly select common filters.
  - These would probably both be covered by a dropdown menu instead of a button, but that's more JS than I want to sign up for right now.
  - Managing custom filters is also a significant amount of extra UI to build.
  - Also, maybe these filters should be sticky per-board? Or across all boards? Or have a "make this my default view"? I tend to dislike implicit stickiness.

a101b4ba2e Make the rest of the board drag-and-drop UI mostly work
Summary:
Ref T1344. Makes the UI/UX a little nicer; still no actual backend stuff. This changes:

  - When you drop an item onto a different column, the item actually moves.
  - Empty columns render with a special CSS class now, but no nodes in the list. This cleans up some JS jankiness. I made the "empty" columns have a light blue background for now. We could put some sort of subtle background image in them instead, or some kind of call to action if it's not redundant with other UI.
