a4a1143b18 Fix an issue where internal paging of notifications could fail if some notifications are not visible
Summary:
Ref T13266. See <https://discourse.phabricator-community.org/t/notification-page-throws-unrecoverable-fatal-error/2651/>.

The "notifications" query currently uses offset paging for no apparent reason (just a legacy issue?), so some of the paging code is only reachable internally.

  - Stop it from using offset paging, since modern cursor paging is fine here (and Feed has used cursor paging for a long time).
  - Fix the non-offset paging to work like Feed.

Also:

  - Remove a couple of stub methods with no callsites after cursor refactoring.

Test Plan:
  - Set things up so I had more than 100 notifications and some in the first 100 were policy filtered, to reproduce the issue (I just made `FeedStory` return `NO_ONE` as a visibility policy).
  - Applied the patch, notifications now page cleanly.
  - Verified that "Next Page" took me to the right place in the result list.

5892c78986 Replace all "setQueryParam()" calls with "remove/replaceQueryParam()"
Summary: Ref T13250. See D20149. Mostly: clarify semantics. Partly: remove magic "null" behavior.

Test Plan: Poked around, but mostly just inspection since these are pretty much one-for-one.

773b4eaa9e Separate "feed" and "notifications" better, allow stories to appear in notifications only
Summary:
Depends on D19861. Ref T13222. See PHI996. Fixes T10743. Currently, notifications only work if a story also has a feed rendering.

Separate "visible in feed" and "visible in notifications", and make notifications query only notifications and vice versa.

Then, set the test notification stories to be visible in notifications only, not feed.

This could be refined a bit (there's no way to have the two views render different values today, for example) but since the only actual use case we have right now is test notifications I don't want to go //too// crazy future-proofing it. I could imagine doing some more of this kind of stuff in Conpherence eventually, though, perhaps.

Test Plan: Sent myself test notifications, saw them appear on my profile timeline and in the JS popup, and in my notifications menu, but not in feed.

70d67a3908 Fix the most significant "phantom notification" badness
Summary:
Ref T13124. Ref T13131. Fixes T8953. See PHI512.

When you receieve a notification about an object and then someone hides that object from you (or deletes it), you get a phantom notification which is very difficult to clear.

For now, test that notifications are visible when you open the menu and clear any that are not.

This could be a little more elegant than it is, but the current behavior is very clearly broken. This unbreaks it, at least.

Test Plan:
  - As Alice, configured task stuff to notify me (instead of sending email).
  - As Bailey, added Alice as a subscriber to a task, then commented on it.
  - As Alice, loaded home and saw a notification count. Didn't click it yet.
  - As Bailey, set the task to private.
  - As Alice, clicked the notification bell menu icon.
    - Before change: no unread notifications, bell menu is semi-stuck in a phantom state which you can't clear.
    - After change: bad notifications automatically cleared.

801607381d [Redesign] PhabricatorApplicationSearchResultView
Summary: Ref T8099. This adds a new class which all search engines return for layout. I thought about this a number of ways, and I think this is the cleanest path. Each Engine can return whatever UI bits they needs, and AppSearch or Dashboard picks and lays the bits out as needed. In the AppSearch case, interfaces like Notifications, Calendar, Legalpad all need more custom layouts. I think this also leaves a resonable path forward for NUX as well. Also, not sure I implemented the class correctly, but assume thats easy to fix?

Test Plan: Review and do a search in each application changed. Grep for all call sites.

f5580c7a08 Make buildWhereClause() a method of AphrontCursorPagedPolicyAwareQuery
Summary:
Ref T4100. Ref T5595.

To support a unified "Projects:" query across all applications, a future diff is going to add a set of "Edge Logic" capabilities to `PolicyAwareQuery` which write the required SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, HAVING and GROUP clauses for you.

With the addition of "Edge Logic", we'll have three systems which may need to build components of query claues: ordering/paging, customfields/applicationsearch, and edge logic.

For most clauses, queries don't currently call into the parent explicitly to get default components. I want to move more query construction logic up the class tree so it can be shared.

For most methods, this isn't a problem, but many subclasses define a `buildWhereClause()`. Make all such definitions protected and consistent.

This causes no behavioral changes.

Test Plan: Ran `arc unit --everything`, which does a pretty through job of verifying this statically.

8efdc4aabf Replace getPagingValue() with cursor methods
Summary:
Ref T7803. Prior to this change sequence, Query classes conflated paging values (the actual thing that goes in a "x > 3" clause) with cursor values (arbitrary identifiers which track where the user is in a result list).

Although the two can sometimes be the same, the vast majority of implementations are simpler and better when object IDs are used as cursors and paging values are derived from them.

The new stuff handles this in a consistent way, so we're free to separate getPagingValue() from paging. The new method is essentially getResultCursor().

This also implements getPageCursors(), which allows queries to return directional cursors. The inability to do this was a practical limitation blocking the implementation of T7803.

Test Plan:
  - Browsed a bunch of results and paged through queries.
  - Grepped for removed methods.

5a9df1a225 Policy - filter app engines where the user can't see the application from panel editing
Summary: Fixes T7118. This does the basic "filter the list" thing, though it ends up being a little manual since I guess this hasn't come up before? There is also potential weird behavior if the user was using an app and lost access to it - they will have nothing selected on edit - but I think this is actually correct behavior in this circumstance.

Test Plan:
used a user who couldn't get access to the "quick create" apps and noted that the dropdown list on dashboard panel create was missing the expected engines

ran `arc unit --everything` to verify abstract method implemented everywhere
