This is a bit overzealous because the [[http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/LocalConnection.html#connect() | documentation]] specifically states than an `ArgumentError` will be throw if "the `LocalConnection` instance is already connected".
