601aaa5a86 Modularize content sources
Summary:
Ref T10537. For Nuance, I want to introduce new sources (like "GitHub" or "GitHub via Nuance" or something) but this needs to modularize eventually.

Split ContentSource apart so applications can add new content sources.

Test Plan:
This change has huge surface area, so I'll hold it until post-release. I think it's fairly safe (and if it does break anything, the breaks should be fatals, not anything subtle or difficult to fix), there's just no reason not to hold it for a few hours.

- Viewed new module page.
- Grepped for all removed functions/constants.
- Viewed some transactions.
- Hovered over timestamps to get content source details.
- Added a comment via Conduit.
- Added a comment via web.
- Ran `bin/storage upgrade --namespace XXXXX --no-quickstart -f` to re-run all historic migrations.
- Generated some objects with `bin/lipsum`.
- Ran a bulk job on some tasks.
- Ran unit tests.

8463ad2659 Replace subscribe/unsubscribe for projects with explicit mail setting
Summary:
Ref T10054. Ref T6113. Users can currently subscribe to projects, which causes them to receive:

  # mail about project membership changes, description changes, etc; and
  # mail to the project, e.g. when the project is added as a subscriber on a task, or a reviewer on a revision.

Almost no one cares about (1), and after D15061 you can use Herald to get this stuff if you really want it. (It will get progressively more annoying in the future with external membership sources causing automated project membership updates.)

A lot of users are confused about (2) and how it relates to membership, watching, etc, and most users who want (2) don't want (1).

Instead, add an explicit option for this and explain what it does.

This is fairly verbose but I've hidden it on the member/watch screen, which is now the "explain how projects work" screen, I guess.

516ba5e6c5 Fix an issue where generation of mail processing error email could fail in the presence of duplicate headers
Summary:
Ref T10121. If a user sends mail with duplicate headers, like:

```
X-Duplicate: A
X-Duplicate: B
```

...and we process it with `mail_handler.php`, we may end up with `array('A', 'B')` as the header value. When we try to write this back into an error response mail, it fails.

Test Plan:
  - Generated a message with duplicate headers.
  - Piped it into `mail_handler.php` with `--process-duplicates` and `--trace` to get a look at it.
  - Faked an exception.
  - Before patch: bad error email.
  - After patch: clean error email showing multiple header values.

4afeebe834 Don't store IP addresses in content sources
Summary:
We don't use these for anything, we're inconsistent about recording them, and there's some mild interaction with privacy concerns and data retention. Every other log we store any kind of information in can be given a custom retention policy after recent GC changes.

If we did put this back eventually it would probably be better to store a session identifier anyway, since that's more granular and more detailed.

You can fetch this info out of access logs anyway, too.

9c798e5cca Provide bin/garbage for interacting with garbage collection
Summary:
Fixes T9494. This:

  - Removes all the random GC.x.y.z config.
  - Puts it all in one place that's locked and which you use `bin/garbage set-policy ...` to adjust.
  - Makes every TTL-based GC configurable.
  - Simplifies the code in the actual GCs.

Test Plan:
  - Ran `bin/garbage collect` to collect some garbage, until it stopped collecting.
  - Ran `bin/garbage set-policy ...` to shorten policy. Saw change in web UI. Ran `bin/garbage collect` again and saw it collect more garbage.
  - Set policy to indefinite and saw it not collect garabge.
  - Set policy to default and saw it reflected in web UI / `collect`.
  - Ran `bin/phd debug trigger` and saw all GCs fire with reasonable looking queries.

779a612e41 Fix mail parameter error with old migrations
Summary:
Fixes T9251. Old mail could get saved with bad parameters for two reasons that I can come up with:

  - Nothing ever set a parameter on it -- not sure this could ever actually happen; or
  - some field contained non-UTF8 data prior to D13939 and we silently failed to encode it.

My guess is that the second case is probably the culprit here.

In any case, recover from this so `20150622.metamta.5.actor-phid-mig.php` can proceed.

acb1eb81cc Move some PhabricatorSearchField subclasses
Summary: Move some `PhabricatorSearchField` subclasses to be adjacent to the application to which they belong. This seems generally better to me than lumping them all together in the `src/applications/search/field/` directory. I was also wondering if it makes sense to rename these subclasses as `PhabricatorXSearchField` rather than `PhabricatorSearchXField` (as per T5655), but wasn't really sure if these objects are meant to be search-fields, or just fields belonging to the #search application.

3215899925 Execute Maniphest batch edits in the background with a web UI progress bar
Summary:
Ref T8637. This does nothing interesting, just has empty scaffolding for a bulk job queue.

Basic idea is that when you do something like a batch edit in Maniphest, we:

  - Create a BulkJob with all the details.
  - Queue a worker to start the job.
  - Send you to a progress bar page for the job.

In the background:

  - The "start job" worker creates a ton of Task objects, then queues worker tasks to do the work.

In the foreground:

  - Fancy ajax animates the progress bar and it goes wooosh.

In general:

  - Big jobs actually work.
  - Jobs get logged.
  - You can monitor jobs.
  - Terrible junk like T8637 should be much harder to write and much easier to catch and diagnose.

7e0249d68c MetaMTA - more progress to mail app
Summary:
Ref T5791. This diff adds a "sensitive" flag to `PhabricatorMetaMTAMail`, defaults it to true in the constructor, and then sets it to false in teh application transaction editor. Assumption here is that sensitive emails are basically all the emails that don't flow through the application transaction editor.

This diff also gets a basic "mail view" page up and going.

This diff also fixes a bug writing recipient edges; the actor was being included.

This bug also fixes a querying bug; we shouldn't do the automagic join of $viewer is recipient or $viewer is actor if folks are querying for recipients or actors already. The bug manifested itself as having the "inbox" be inbox + outbox.

One behavioral change: we no longer require these addresses to be at the `auth.email-domains` domains -- I think this wasn't quite right in the general case. It's OK to require users to have `@mycompany.com` addresses but add `@phabricator.mycompany-infrastructure.com` addresses here if you want.

6db97bde12 Build separate mail for each recipient, honoring recipient access levels
Summary:
Ref T6367. Removes `multiplexMail()`!

We can't pass a single body into a function which splits it anymore: we need to split recipients first, then build bodies for each recipient list. This lets us build separate bodies for each recipient's individual translation/access levels.

The new logic does this:

  - First, split recipients into groups called "targets".
    - Each target corresponds to one actual mail we're going to build.
    - Each target has a viewer (whose translation / access levels will be used to generate the mail).
    - Each target has a to/cc list (the users who we'll ultimately send the mail to).
  - For each target, build a custom mail body based on the viewer's access levels and settings (language prefs not actually implemented).
  - Then, deliver the mail.

Test Plan:
  - Read new config help.

Then did a bunch of testing, primarily with `bin/mail list-outbound` and `bin/mail show-outbound` (to review generated mail), `bin/phd debug taskmaster` (to run daemons freely) and `bin/worker execute --id <id>` (to repeatedly test a specific piece of code after identifying an issue).

With `one-mail-per-recipient` on (default):

  - Sent mail to multiple users.
  - Verified mail showed up in `mail list-outbound`.
  - Examined mail with `mail show-outbound`.
  - Added a project that a subscriber could not see.
    - Verified it was not present in `X-Phabricator-Projects`.
    - Verified it was rendered as "Restricted Project" for the non-permissioned viewer.
  - Added a subscriber, then changed the object policy so they could not see it and sent mail.
    - Verified I received mail but the other user did not.
  - Enabled public replies and verified mail generated with public addresses.
  - Disabld public replies and verified mail generated with private addresses.

With `one-mail-per-recipient` off:

  - Verified that one mail is sent to all recipients.
  - Verified users who can not see the object are still filtered.
  - Verified that partially-visible projects are completely visible in the mail (this violates policies, as documented, as the best available compromise).
  - Enabled public replies and verified the mail generated with "Reply To".

a4784e03ff [Redesign] Add Table, Collapse support to ObjectBox
Summary: Converts most all tables to be directly set via `setTable` to an ObjectBox. I think this path is more flexible design wise, as we can change the box based on children, and not just CSS. We also already do this with PropertyList, Forms, ObjectList, and Header. `setCollapsed` is added to ObjectBox to all children objects to bleed to the edges (like diffs).

Test Plan: I did a grep of `appendChild($table)` as well as searches for `PHUIObjectBoxView`, also with manual opening of hundreds of files. I'm sure I missed 5-8 places. If you just appendChild($table) nothing breaks, it just looks a little funny.

f5580c7a08 Make buildWhereClause() a method of AphrontCursorPagedPolicyAwareQuery
Summary:
Ref T4100. Ref T5595.

To support a unified "Projects:" query across all applications, a future diff is going to add a set of "Edge Logic" capabilities to `PolicyAwareQuery` which write the required SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, HAVING and GROUP clauses for you.

With the addition of "Edge Logic", we'll have three systems which may need to build components of query claues: ordering/paging, customfields/applicationsearch, and edge logic.

For most clauses, queries don't currently call into the parent explicitly to get default components. I want to move more query construction logic up the class tree so it can be shared.

For most methods, this isn't a problem, but many subclasses define a `buildWhereClause()`. Make all such definitions protected and consistent.

This causes no behavioral changes.

Looking forward to T5791, I eventually anticipate writing an interface which looks like a webmail UI where users can review mail they've been sent and understand why they recieved (or did not receive) the mail. Roughly like `bin/mail list-outbound` / `bin/mail show-outbound` work today, but policy-aware (so you can only see messages where delivery was attempted to you).

We currently record a list of "reasons" why a mail is undeliverable, but this list is string-based (so it can not be translated once we start persisting it) and has only negative reasons (so it can not be used to fully understand reasons for delivery or nondelivery).

Make it code-based (so it can be translated) and allow both positive and negative reasons to be listed (so positive reasons can be understood).

Test Plan: Used `bin/mail show-outbound` to review mail delivery reasons, including the positive reason we currently have (forced delivery of authentication mail).

a804f0ab93 Make file policies for emailed files more consistent
Summary:
Fixes T7712. Currently, files sent via email get default policies, like they were dragged and dropped onto the home page.

User expectation is better aligned with giving files more restrictive policies, like they were draggged and dropped directly onto an object.

Make files sent via email have restricted default visibility. Once we identify the sender, set them as the file author. Later, the file will become visible to other users via attachment to a task, revision, etc.

Test Plan: Sent some files via email; verified they got restrictive policies, correct authorship, and appropriate object attachment.

Summary:
Fixes T7199. This still isn't a shining example of perfect code, but the raw amount of copy/paste is much lower than it used to be.

  - Reduce code duplication between existing receivers.
  - Expose receiving objects in help menus where appropriate.
  - Connect some "TODO" receivers.

afd86a0420 Improve rules for embedding files received via email
Summary:
Ref T7199. Ref T7712. This improves the file rules for email:

  - Embed visible images as thumbnails.
  - Put all other file types in a nice list.

This "fixes" an issue caused by the opposite of the problem described in T7712 -- files being dropped if the default ruleset is too restrictive. T7712 is the real solution here, but use a half-measure for now.

Test Plan:
  - Sent mail with two non-images and two images.
  - Got a nice list of non-images and embeds of images.

bad645f1ec Remove all application-specific reply handler domains
Summary:
Ref T7199. These were a bad idea which got copy-pasted a bunch.

  - There is zero reason to ever set these to different things.
  - Unsurprisingly, I don't know of any install which has them set to different things.

Unless I've completely forgotten about it, this option was not motivated by some obscure business need, it was just a bad decision which didn't catch anyone's attention at the time.

We partially remedied the mistake at some point by introducing `metamta.reply-handler-domain`, which works as a default for all applications, but never cleaned this mess up.

Test Plan: Sent some mail from applications, verified it picked up appropraite reply handler domains.

0d99c84bd7 Modernize email command parsing
Summary:
Ref T7199. This prepares for an exciting new world of more powerful "!action" commands. In particular:

  - We parse multiple commands per mail.
  - We parse command arguments (these are currently not used).
  - We parse commands at the beginning or end of mail.

Additionally:

  - Do a quick modernization pass on all handlers.
  - Break legacy compatibility with really hacky Facebook stuff (see T1992). They've theoretically been on notice for a year and a half, and their setup relies on calling very old reply handler APIs directly.
  - Some of these handlers had some copy/paste fluff.
  - The Releeph handler is unreachable, but fix it //in theory//.

Test Plan:
- Sent mail to a file; used "!unsubscribe".
- Sent mail to a legalpad document; used "!unsubscribe".
- Sent mail to a task; used various "!close", "!claim", "!assign", etc.
- Sent mail to a paste.
- Sent mail to a revision; used various "!reject", "!claim", etc.
- Tried to send mail to a pull request but it's not actually reachable.

030e05aa4c Remove reply handler instructions from email
Summary:
Ref T7199. Although this is useful for discovery, it's un-useful enough that we already have an option to disable it, and most applications do not provide any meaningful instructions.

Throwing it away makes it easier to move forward and lets us get rid of a config option.

This is becoming a more advanced/power-user feature anyway, and the new syntax will be significantly more complex and hard to explain with a one-liner. I'm currently thinking that I'll maybe make the "help" menu a dropdown and give it some options like:

  +---+
O
  +---+---------------------+
Maniphest Documentation
Maniphest Email Actions
  +-------------------------+

Then you click the "Email Actions" thing and get a runtime-derived list of available options. Not sure if I'll actually build that, but I think we can fairly throw the in-mail instructions away even if we don't go in that specific direction.

Test Plan: Grepped for `replyHandlerInstructions`, got no hits.

bd2eaad04f Add "phabricator.silent" for stopping all outbound events from an install
Summary:
Ref T7522. This is mostly useful in the cluster, but could be useful for external installs too.

If you want to import an instance into a test/dry-run state (in the cluster, to test an import; in the general case, to do something like test new hardware or configuration), you currently risk spamming users with a lot of duplicate notifications. In particular, if Phabricator tracks remotes, both instances will continue importing commits and sending email about them. Both instances will try to publish to mirrors, too, which could be bad news, and both instances will try to update linked services.

Instead, provide a flag to let an instance run in "silent mode", which disables all outbound messaging and data.

We need to remember to support this flag on any new outbound channels, but we add about one of those per year so I think that's reasonable.

Test Plan:
  - Flipped config.
  - Saw it void email, feed and mirroring.
  - Didn't test SMS since it's not really in use yet and not convenient to test.
  - (Can you think of any publishing I missed?)

973079a7da Modularize application configuration panels
Summary:
Ref T7149. This is a few steps away, but:

  - Generally, I'd like to reduce the amount of "Config" configuration we have.
  - One good way to do this is to move it into UIs in Application configuration. We did this with email recently.
  - I think this was a great change and I'd like to keep moving in this direction.
  - T7149 touches configuration related to file storage engines. Although I'm not planning to fully move configuration into applications yet, it would be easier to debug and test if I could drop a read-only panel there to show engines.
  - So, modularize the config stuff so I can add a new panel without hard-coding it.

Test Plan:
  - Added, edited, and deleted application emails.
  - Viewed non-email application detail pages.

d598edc5f3 MetaMTA - update documentation and make config a tad easier
Summary: Fixes T7088. Mainly this updates the documentation but I also snuck in tweaking how the domain reply handler is built. This does two main things -- makes the behavior consistent as some applications who didn't override this behavior would send out emails with reply tos AND makes it easier for us to deprecate the custom domain thing on a per application basis, which is just silly. On that note, the main documentation doesn't get into how this can be overridden, though I left in that mini blurb on the config setting itself. We could deprecate this harder and LOCK things if you want as well.
