bd6d300282 Strip timestamps from popup notification bubbles
Summary:
Fixes T11097. Currently, popup notifications show a useless timestamp with the current time, after D16041 made some things more consistent.

c1331bcb7b Cache user notification and message counts
Summary:
Ref T4103. Ref T10078. This puts a user cache in front of notification and message counts.

This reduces the number of queries issued on every page by 4 (2x building the menu, 2x building Quicksand data).

Also fixes some minor issues:

  - Daemons could choke on sending mail in the user's translation.
  - No-op object updates could fail in the daemons.
  - Questionable data access pattern in the file query coming out of the profile file cache.

Test Plan:
  - Sent myself notifications. Saw count go up.
  - Cleared them by visiting objects and clearing all notifications. Saw count go down.
  - Sent myself messages. Saw count go up.
  - Cleared them by visiting threads. Saw count go down.

bbb321395a Support Aphlict clustering
Summary:
Ref T6915. This allows multiple notification servers to talk to each other:

  - Every server has a list of every other server, including itself.
  - Every server generates a unique fingerprint at startup, like "XjeHuPKPBKHUmXkB".
  - Every time a server gets a message, it marks it with its personal fingerprint, then sends it to every other server.
  - Servers do not retransmit messages that they've already seen (already marked with their fingerprint).
  - Servers learn other servers' fingerprints after they send them a message, and stop sending them messages they've already seen.

This is pretty crude, and the first message to a cluster will transmit N^2 times, but N is going to be like 3 or 4 in even the most extreme cases for a very long time.

The fingerprinting stops cycles, and stops servers from sending themselves copies of messages.

We don't need to do anything more sophisticated than this because it's fine if some notifications get lost when a server dies. Clients will reconnect after a short period of time and life will continue.

Test Plan:
  - Wrote two server configs.
  - Started two servers.
  - Told Phabricator about all four services.
  - Loaded Chrome and Safari.
  - Saw them connect to different servers.
  - Sent messages in one, got notifications in the other (magic!).
  - Saw the fingerprinting stuff work on the console, no infinite retransmission of messages, etc.

(This pretty much just worked when I ran it the first time so I probably missed something?)

d4bf2a147b Make paths and Aphlict instance names less ambiguous
Summary:
Fixes T10783 (what little of it remains). Ref T10697.

Aphlict currently uses request paths for two different things:

  - multi-tenant instancing in the Phacility cluster (each instance gets its own namespace within an Aphlict server);
  - some users configure nginx and apache to do proxying or SSL termination based on the path.

Currently, these can collide.

Put a "~" before the instance name to make it unambiguous. At some point we can possibly just use a GET parameter, but I think there was some reason I didn't do that originally and this sequence of changes is disruptive enough already.

Test Plan: Saw local Aphlict unambiguously recognize "local.phacility.com" as instance "local", with a "~"-style URI.

Summary:
Fixes T10697. This finishes bringing the rest of the config up to cluster power levels.

Phabricator is now given an arbitrarily long list of notification servers.

Each Aphlict server is given an arbitrarily long list of ports to run services on.

Users are free to make them meet in the middle by proxying whatever they want to whatever else they want.

This should also accommodate clustering fairly easily in the future.

Also rewrote the status UI and changed a million other things. 🐗

49d93dcf98 Add a cluster.read-only option
Summary:
Ref T4571. There will be a very long path beyond this, but add a basic read-only mode. You can explicitly enable this to put Phabricator in a sort of "maintenance" mode today if you're swapping databases or something.

In the long term, we'll automatically degrade into this mode if the master database is down.

Test Plan:
  - Enabled read-only mode.
  - Browsed around.
  - Didn't immediately see anything that was totally 100% broken.

Most stuff is 80-90% broken right now. For example:

  - Stuff like submitting comments doesn't work, and gives you a confusing, unhelpful error.
  - None of the UI really knows that it's read-only. EditEngine stuff should all hide itself and say "you can't add new comments while an install is in read-only mode", for example, but currently does not.

801607381d [Redesign] PhabricatorApplicationSearchResultView
Summary: Ref T8099. This adds a new class which all search engines return for layout. I thought about this a number of ways, and I think this is the cleanest path. Each Engine can return whatever UI bits they needs, and AppSearch or Dashboard picks and lays the bits out as needed. In the AppSearch case, interfaces like Notifications, Calendar, Legalpad all need more custom layouts. I think this also leaves a resonable path forward for NUX as well. Also, not sure I implemented the class correctly, but assume thats easy to fix?

f5580c7a08 Make buildWhereClause() a method of AphrontCursorPagedPolicyAwareQuery
Summary:
Ref T4100. Ref T5595.

To support a unified "Projects:" query across all applications, a future diff is going to add a set of "Edge Logic" capabilities to `PolicyAwareQuery` which write the required SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, HAVING and GROUP clauses for you.

With the addition of "Edge Logic", we'll have three systems which may need to build components of query claues: ordering/paging, customfields/applicationsearch, and edge logic.

For most clauses, queries don't currently call into the parent explicitly to get default components. I want to move more query construction logic up the class tree so it can be shared.

For most methods, this isn't a problem, but many subclasses define a `buildWhereClause()`. Make all such definitions protected and consistent.

This causes no behavioral changes.

Test Plan: Ran `arc unit --everything`, which does a pretty through job of verifying this statically.

8efdc4aabf Replace getPagingValue() with cursor methods
Summary:
Ref T7803. Prior to this change sequence, Query classes conflated paging values (the actual thing that goes in a "x > 3" clause) with cursor values (arbitrary identifiers which track where the user is in a result list).

Although the two can sometimes be the same, the vast majority of implementations are simpler and better when object IDs are used as cursors and paging values are derived from them.

The new stuff handles this in a consistent way, so we're free to separate getPagingValue() from paging. The new method is essentially getResultCursor().

This also implements getPageCursors(), which allows queries to return directional cursors. The inability to do this was a practical limitation blocking the implementation of T7803.

  - Browsed a bunch of results and paged through queries.
  - Grepped for removed methods.

ebcab8edb6 Namespace Aphlict clients by request path, plus other fixes
Summary:
Fixes T7130. Fixes T7041. Fixes T7012.

Major change here is partitioning clients. In the Phacility cluster, being able to get a huge pile of instances on a single server -- without needing to run a process per instance -- is desirable.

To accomplish this, just bucket clients by the path they connect with. This will let us set client URIs to `/instancename/` and then route connections to a small set of servers. This degrades cleanly in the common case and has no effect on installs which don't do instancing.

Also fix two unrelated issues:

  - Fix the timeouts, which were incorrectly initializing in `open()` (which is called during reconnect, causing them to reset every time). Instead, initialize in the constructor. Cap timeout at 5 minutes.
  - Probably fix subscriptions, which were using a property with an object definition. Since this is by-ref, all concrete instances of the object share the same property, so all users would be subscribed to everything. Probably.

Test Plan:
  - Hit notification status page, saw version bump and instance/path name.
  - Saw instance/path name in client and server logs.
  - Stopped server, saw reconnects after 2, 4, 16, ... seconds.
  - Sent test notification; received test notification.
  - Didn't explicitly test the subscription thing but it should be obvious by looking at `/notification/status/` shortly after a push.

9352c76e81 Decouple some aspects of request routing and construction
Summary:
Ref T5702. This is a forward-looking change which provides some very broad API improvements but does not implement them. In particular:

  - Controllers no longer require `$request` to construct. This is mostly for T5702, directly, but simplifies things in general. Instead, we call `setRequest()` before using a controller. Only a small number of sites activate controllers, so this is less code overall, and more consistent with most constructors not having any parameters or effects.
  - `$request` now offers `getURIData($key, ...)`. This is an alternate way of accessing `$data` which is currently only available on `willProcessRequest(array $data)`. Almost all controllers which implement this method do so in order to read one or two things out of the URI data. Instead, let them just read this data directly when processing the request.
  - Introduce `handleRequest(AphrontRequest $request)` and deprecate (very softly) `processRequest()`. The majority of `processRequest()` calls begin `$request = $this->getRequest()`, which is avoided with the more practical signature.
  - Provide `getViewer()` on `$request`, and a convenience `getViewer()` on `$controller`. This fixes `$viewer = $request->getUser();` into `$viewer = $request->getViewer();`, and converts the `$request + $viewer` two-liner into a single `$this->getViewer()`.

Test Plan:
  - Browsed around in general.
  - Hit special controllers (redirect, 404).
  - Hit AuditList controller (uses new style).

943c62d1e9 Add missing expected keys and uniqueness
Summary:
Ref T1191.

  - Adds definitions for missing keys and keys with wrong uniqueness. Generally, I defined these before fixing the key query to actually pull all keys and support uniqueness.
  - Moves "key uniqueness" to note severity; this is fixable (probably?) and there are no remaining issues.
  - Moves "Missing Key" to note severity; missing keys are fixable and all remaining missing keys are really missing (either missing edge keys, or missing PHID keys):

{F210089}

  - Moves "Surplus Key" to note seveirty; surplus keys are fixable all remaining surplus keys are really surplus (duplicate key in Harbormaster, key on unused column in Worker):

{F210090}

Test Plan:
  - Vetted missing/surplus/unique messages.
  - 146 issues remaining.

4d3cc7b28d Use %s, not %d, to encode a 64-bit integer for a query
Summary: Fixes T5982. Probably. I'm just guessing here but like 95% sure this will fix it and 99% sure it won't hurt/break anything.

Test Plan: Still works on my 64-bit install, for what little that's worth.

e50b269416 Notifications - fix race condition around "Mark All Read".
Summary:
pre-patch "Mark All Read" marks *all* unread notifications as read. This is a race condition in that the user is looking at some set of notiifcations and that set may update such that the newest notifications aren't shown. An example might be if sitting on the notifications page or having the menu open while a new notification comes in... Note re-opening the menu would show the latest notifications.

This patch makes it so "Mark All Read" links only marks the notifications currently loaded (and older.) Fixes T5764.

Additionally, if there is nothing to "mark read" the button / link "Mark All Read" will have a disabled style and yield a dialog saying "nothing to mark as read".

Test Plan: carefully tracked ?chronoKey populating correctly in various links. Verified query constructed properly too.
